Beaches in Arta
Although the prefecture of Arta is not best known for its beaches, as they are quite particular, the majority of them are situated along Amvrakikos Bay next to the lagoons and the natural water parks of the area. Shallow, sandy and warm are typical characteristics of a beach in the area, usually decorated with wonderful sea shells.
Most of these beaches are situated in the area of Koronisia and the neighbouring areas. Although their names lack imagination and are commonly named Chrisi Ammos, Psili Ammos, Pahia Ammos, e.t.c, there is an amazingly calm beach on the opposite side of Koronisia, called The Dead!
On the other hand, if you prefer the beaches of the Aegean Sea, then the beaches in the area of Amvrakikos Bay might seem unsatisfactory. The area with the lagoons compensates for the beaches, rewarding the visitors with its natural beauty. An important advantage for those who prefer to stay in the prefecture of Arta is the proximity to the green-blue beaches of the Ionian Islands and the crystal clear rivers on the mainland around Arta.
